CHALLENGES AND OPPORTUNITIES FOR SUSTAINABILITY IN A SCIENCE MUSEUM – A CASE STUDY By Dr. Rajesh Grover and Dr. Munish Soin

Abstract

A study was carried out to understand the challenges and opportunities of Pushpa Gujral Science City, Kapurthala (PGSC) which has been been set up on 72 acres of land at Kapurthala (Punjab) with total cost of Rs. 100 crores, inaugurated on March 19, 2005 primarily aimed at popularizing science through edutainment, promoting a scientific temper in North India. The study also focuses on how PGSC has overcome those challenges and sustained its activities in the last 11 years without any financial support from the Government.
