Abstract
The paper examines the rural-urban migration patterns of poor migrants who move to Hubli city, Northern Karnataka, either on their own or with their families. It explores the consequences that the migration process driven by economic and social reasons has on unemployment and due to poverty. The findings of this work show that the factors and impact of migration on their livelihood. It was also finding out the fulfillment status about their dreams which they were shown before migration. Urban planners should be concerned about the rapidly expanding cities and the concentration of perhaps disaffected migrants in urban areas. The study results highlight the need to target migrant groups and urban poor within urban areas in the provision of availability of work care services.
