Abstract Present research paper analysis Ngugi’s presentation of marginalised section of the Kenyan society such as women and workers in his novel, Devil on the Cross. Subaltern studies focus on the socially neglected and those who do have their own representation on literary canvas. Spivak argues that women especially Indian women are socially marginalised by our society. According to her, they can’t speak because they are unheard by social barriers.
